Isarithmic Map
The map below is an example of an Isarithmic Map which is distinguishes between regions of similarity and dissimilarity regardless of any other boundaries such as political borders. Isarithmic maps are frequently used for studying weather patterns as well changes of elevation.
Choropleth Map
The choropleth map shows information collected about a area within pre-established borders. The map below shows information about voting patterns in the 2008 Presidential Election.
Dot Density Map
The dot density map below uses dots of various sizes and various intensities of a color to illustrate occurrences with varying frequencies of a studied object such as tracking occurrences of an illness.
